A customer in a local hip-hop/rap group brought this in. He said it wouldn’t power on at all. He didn’t want to buy a new one because this one had a lot of sentimental value to him (I can totally relate.) The main power ran off a USB 2.0 type-B port. Plugging the power cable in and doing a wiggle test showed that the inner tab was very loose.
There was nothing proprietary or fancy about the charge port, it was just a standard USB 2.0 type-B. So a quick swap with a new one and it appeared we were back in business. (The new port has a white tab, strictly aesthetic.)
